Live Positive Way - The starfish

Once a man was walking along a beach. The sun was shining and it was a beautiful day. Off in the distance he could see a person going back and forth between the surf's edge and and the beach. Back and forth this person went. As the man approached, he could see that there were hundreds of starfish stranded on the sand as the result of the natural action of the tide.

The man was stuck by the the apparent futility of the task. There were far too many starfish. Many of them were sure to perish. As he approached, the person continued the task of picking up starfish one by one and throwing them into the surf.

As he came up to the person, he said: "You must be crazy. There are thousands of miles of beach covered with starfish. You can't possibly make a difference." The person looked at the man. He then stooped down and pick up one more starfish and threw it back into the ocean. He turned back to the man and said: "It sure made a difference to that one!"

Live Positive Way - Do It Anyway

People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered.  Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives.  Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies.  Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you.  Be honest and sincere anyway.

What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight.  Create anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous.  Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, will often be forgotten.  Do good anyway.

Give the best you have, and it will never be enough.  Give your best anyway.

In the final analysis, it is between you and God.  It was never between you and them anyway.

Live Positive Way

Sharing the below passage I liked so much while reading....

The Vietnamese Buddhist monk and philosopher, Thich Nhat Hanh, writes about enjoying a good cup of tea. You must be completely awake in the present to enjoy the tea. Only in the awareness of the present can your hands feel the pleasant warmth of the cup. Only in the present can you savor the aroma, taste the sweetness, appreciate the delicacy. If you are ruminating about the past or worrying about the future, you will completely miss the experience of enjoying the cup of tea. You will look down at the cup, and the tea will be gone.

Life is like that. If you are not fully in the present, you will look around and it will be gone. You will have missed the feel, the aroma, the delicacy and beauty of life. It will seem to be speeding past you. The past is finished. Learn from it and let it go. The future is not even here yet. Plan for it, but do not waste your time worrying about it. Worrying is worthless. When you stop ruminating about what has already happened, when you stop worrying about what might never happen, then you will be in the present moment. Then you will begin to experience joy in life.

Optimism means expecting the best, but confidence means knowing how to handle the worst. Never make a move if you are merely optimistic. -The Zurich Axioms

“Like success, failure is many things to many people. With positive mental attitude, failure is a learning experience, a rung on the ladder, and a plateau at which to get your thoughts in order to prepare to try again.” – W. Clement Stone

“Nothing can stop a man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goals; and nothing on earth can help a man with the wrong mental attitude.” – Thomas Jefferson

"Don’t limit yourself. Many people limit themselves to what they think they can do. You can go as far as your mind lets you. What you believe, remember you can achieve." – Mary Kay Ash

"Do you know that within your power lies every step you ever dreamed of stepping and within your power lies every joy you ever dreamed of seeing? Within yourself lies everything you ever dreamed of being. Become everything that God wants you to be. It is within your reach. Dare to grow into your dreams and claim this as your motto: Let it be me." – Mary Kay Ash

Before I Was a Mom

Author Unknown
Before I was a Mom
I made and ate hot meals.
I had unstained clothing.
I had quiet conversations on the phone.

Before I was a Mom,
I slept as late as I wanted
And never worried about how late I got into bed.
I brushed my hair and my teeth everyday.

Before I was Mom
I cleaned my house each day.
I never tripped over toys or forgot words of lullabies.

Before I was a Mom
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom
I had never been puked on
Pooped on
Spit on
Chewed on
Peed on
Or pinched by tiny fingers

Before I was a Mom
I had complete control of:
My thoughts
My body
And my mind.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom
I never held down a screaming child
So that doctors could do tests
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put it down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
When I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small
Could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a Mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small
Could make me feel so important.

Before I was a Mom
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay
I had never known the warmth
The joy
The love
The heartache
The wonder
Or the satisfaction of being a Mom.

I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much before I was a Mom.

Live Positive Way

Human Beings and frogs are the two creatures in nature who have tremendous power to adjust. Put a frog in a vessel of water and start heating the water. As the temperature of the water rises, the frog is able to adjust its body temperature accordingly. The frog keeps on adjusting with increase in temperature. Just when the water is about to reach boiling point, the frog is not able to adjust anymore. At that point the frog decides to jump out. The frog tries to jump but is unable to do so, because it lost all its strength in adjusting with the water temperature. Very soon the frog dies.

What killed the frog? Many of us would say the boiling water.

But the truth is what killed the frog was its own inability to decide when it had to jump out.

We all need to adjust with people and situations, but we need to be sure when we need to adjust and when we need to face. There are times when we need to face the situation and take the appropriate action.

If we allow people to exploit us physically, emotionally or financially, they will continue to do so. We have to decide when to jump. Let us jump while we still have the strength!

Book Review

Another book touching heart n lives.... its always wonderful reading Dr. Weiss books... It gives immense satisfaction and self-realization.  Try this out.....

Miracles Happen: The Transformational Healing Power of Past-Life Memories
by Brian L. Weiss, Amy E. Weiss

As a traditional psychotherapist, Dr. Brian Weiss was skeptical when one of his patients began recalling past-life traumas. Yet these memories allowed her to recover from her recurring nightmares and anxiety attacks in a way he'd never experienced. His skepticism eroded further when she began to channel messages from "the space between lives" and reveal truths about his dead son that she never could have known. Now a leader in the field of past-life therapy, Dr. Weiss has helped thousands connect with their past lives and experience tremendous healing. In Miracles Happen, Weiss, along with his daughter, Amy, shares these remarkable real-life stories to reveal how past-life regression holds the keys to our spiritual purpose.

The awareness that we have multiple lifetimes, separated by spiritual interludes on the other side, helps to dissolve the fear of death and bring more peace and joy into the present moment. And in Miracles Happen, personal stories, accompanied by Dr. Weiss's inspiring teachings, reveal how getting in touch with our past lives can profoundly and permanently heal mind and body. In the end, we come away inspired, renewed, and assured of the truth that we are eternal beings who are free to heal our current wounds by better understanding our past. It's a practice that helps us improve our current lives, evolve along our spiritual paths, and live each day with purpose.

Live Positive Way

“We have to allow ourselves to be loved by the people who really love us, the people who really matter. Too much of the time, we are blinded by our own pursuits of people to love us, people that don't even matter, while all that time we waste and the people who do love us have to stand on the sidewalk and watch us beg in the streets! It's time to put an end to this. It's time for us to let ourselves be loved.”

“You will find that it is necessary to let things go; simply for the reason that they are heavy. So let them go, let go of them. I tie no weights to my ankles.”

“The only way that we can live, is if we grow. The only way that we can grow is if we change. The only way that we can change is if we learn. The only way we can learn is if we are exposed. And the only way that we can become exposed is if we throw ourselves out into the open. Do it. Throw yourself.”

Live Positive Way

This is a story worth sharing !!!

This about Mr. Zavere Poonawala who is a well-known Parsee industrialist in Pune. He had this driver named Ganga Datt with him for the last 30 years on his limousine, which was originally owned by Acharya Rajneesh.

Ganga Datt passed away recently and at that time Mr. Poonawala was in Mumbai for some important work. As soon as he heard the news, he canceled all his meetings, requested the driver's family to await him for the cremation and came back to Pune immediately by a helicopter.

On reaching Pune, he asked the limo to be decorated with flowers as he wished Ganga Datt should be taken in the same car which he himself had driven since the beginning. When Ganga Datt's family agreed to his wishes, he himself drove Ganga Datt from his home up to the ghat on his last journey.

When asked about it, Mr. Poonawala replied that Ganga Datt had served him day and night, and he could at least do this being eternally grateful to him. He further added that Ganga Datt rose up from poverty and educated both his children very well. His daughter is a Chartered accountant and that is so commendable.

His comment in the end, is the essence of a successful life in all aspects:
“Everybody earns money which is nothing unusual in that, but we should always be grateful to those people who contribute to our success. This is the belief, we have been brought up with, which made me do, what I did”.

An inspiring example of humility...

Live Positive Way - Life Is A Gift

Life Is A Gift

Today before you think of saying an unkind word–
think of someone who can’t speak.

Before you complain about the taste of your food–
think of someone who has nothing to eat.

Before you complain about your husband or wife–
think of someone who is crying out to God for a companion.

Today before you complain about life–
think of someone who went too early to heaven.

Before you complain about your children–
think of someone who desires children but they’re barren.

Before you argue about your dirty house, someone didn’t clean or sweep–
think of the people who are living in the streets.

Before whining about the distance you drive–
think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet.

And when you are tired and complain about your job–
think of the unemployed, the disabled and those who wished they had your job.

But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another–
remember that not one of us are without sin and we all answer to one maker.

And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down–
put a smile on your face and thank God you’re alive and still around.

Life is a gift – Live it, Enjoy it, Celebrate it, and Fulfill it.

Why Some People Have All the Luck
By Professor Richard Wiseman, University of Hertfordshire

Why do some people get all the luck while others never get the breaks they deserve?

A psychologist says he has discovered the answer.

Ten years ago, I set out to examine luck. I wanted to know why some people are always in the right place at the right time, while others consistently experience ill fortune. I placed advertisements in national newspapers asking for people who felt consistently lucky or unlucky to contact me.

Hundreds of extraordinary men and women volunteered for my research and over the years, I have interviewed them, monitored their lives and had them take part in experiments.

The results reveal that although these people have almost no insight into the causes of their luck, their thoughts and behaviour are responsible for much of their good and bad fortune. Take the case of seemingly chance opportunities. Lucky people consistently encounter such opportunities, whereas unlucky people do not.

I carried out a simple experiment to discover whether this was due to differences in their ability to spot such opportunities. I gave both lucky and unlucky people a newspaper, and asked them to look through it and tell me how many photographs were inside. I had secretly placed a large message halfway through the newspaper saying: "Tell the experimenter you have seen this and win $50."

This message took up half of the page and was written in type that was more than two inches high. It was staring everyone straight in the face, but the unlucky people tended to miss it and the lucky people tended to spot it.

Unlucky people are generally more tense than lucky people, and this anxiety disrupts their ability to notice the unexpected.

As a result, they miss opportunities because they are too focused on looking for something else. They go to parties' intent on finding their perfect partner and so miss opportunities to make good friends. They look through newspapers determined to find certain types of job advertisements and miss other types of jobs. The lucky ones make the best of what they have and find ways to make it better. Unlucky ones tend to find an easy way out and fail in life.

Lucky people are more relaxed and open, and therefore see what is there rather than just what they are looking for. My research eventually revealed that lucky people generate good fortune via four principles. They are skilled at creating and noticing chance opportunities, make lucky decisions
by listening to their intuition, create self-fulfilling prophesies via positive expectations, and adopt a resilient attitude that transforms bad luck into good.

Towards the end of the work, I wondered whether these principles could be used to create good luck. I asked a group of volunteers to spend a month carrying out exercises designed to help them think and behave like a lucky person.

Dramatic results! These exercises helped them spot chance opportunities, listen to their intuition, expect to be lucky, and be more resilient to bad luck. One month later, the volunteers returned and described what had happened. The results were dramatic: 80% of people were now happier, more
satisfied with their lives and, perhaps most important of all, luckier.

The lucky people had become even luckier and the unlucky had become lucky.

Finally, I had found the elusive "luck factor".

Here are Professor Wiseman's four top tips for becoming lucky:
 1) Listen to your gut instincts - they are normally right
 2) Be open to new experiences  and find ways to make things work better. Family and loved ones for a start.
 3) Spend a few moments each day remembering things that went well
 4) Visualize yourself being lucky before an important meeting or telephone call.

Have a Lucky day and work for it. The happiest people in the world are not those who have no problems, but those who learn to live with things that are less than perfect.

Live Positive Way - Its Another Day!!!

It's another morning..... ..  Again I have to go to office.

Ohh, this is me... I shouted having a glance on my snap in today's news paper.
But what the HELL it is doing in the death column??

Strange...

One sec... Let me think, last night when I was going to bed I had a severe pain in my chest, but I don't remember anything after that, I think I had a sound sleep.

Its morning now, ohh..... It's already 10:00 AM, where is my coffee? I will be late for office and my boss will get a chance to irritate me.

Where is everyone...? ?? I screamed. "I think there is a crowd outside my room, let me check." I said to myself.

So many people..... Not all of them crying...But why some of them crying...

WHAT IS THIS??? I m laying there on the floor...

"I AM HERE" ... I shouted!!! No one listen.

"LOOK I AM NOT DEAD" ... I screamed once again!!! No one is interested in me. They all were looking at me on the bed.

I went back to my bed room. "Am I dead??"  I asked myself.

Where is my wife, my children, my mom-DAD, my friends?

I found them in the next room, all of them were crying... still trying to console each other.

My wife was crying... she was really looking sad. My little kid was not sure what happened, but he was crying just coz his mom was sad.

How can I go without saying my kid that I really love him, I really do care for him. ??
How can I go without saying my wife that she is really most beautiful and most caring wife in this world..??
How can I go without saying my parents that I m ... just because of u ??
How can I go without telling my friends that without them perhaps I have done most of the wrong things in my life... thanks for being there always when I need them... and sorry for not being there when they really needed me..

I can see a person standing in the corner and trying to hide his tears...Ohh. .. he was once my best friend, but a small misunderstanding made us part, and we both have strong enough ego to keep us disconnected.

I went there. And offered him my hand, "Dear friend... I just want to say sorry for everything, we r still best friends, please forgive me."

No response from other side, what the hell?? He is still preserving his ego, I am saying sorry... even then!!! I really don't care for such people.

But one sec.... it seems he is not able to see me!!!! He did not see my extended hand. My goodness...  AM I REALLY DEAD???

I just sat down near ME; I was also feeling like crying...

"OHH ALMIGHTY!!!! PLEASE JUST GIVE ME FEW MORE DAYS..." I just wasn't to make my wife, my parents; my friends realize that how much I love them.

My wife entered in the room, she looks beautiful. "YOU’R BEAUTIFUL" I shouted. She didn't hear my words, in fact she never heard these words coz I never said this to her.

"GOD!!!!" I screamed... a little more time plz.I cried...

One more chance please... to hug my child, to make my mom smile just once, to feel my dad proud on me at least for a moment, to say sorry to my friends for everything I have not given to them, and thanks for still being in my life....

Then I looked up and cried!!!! I shouted.... "GOD!!!! ONE MORE CHANCE PLEASE!!!!"

"You shouted in your sleep," said my wife as she gently woke me up. "Did you have a nightmare?"

I was sleeping.... Ohh that was just a dream....

My wife was there... she can hear me...This is the happiest moment of my life...I hugged her and whispered... . "U R THE MOST BEAUTIFUL AND CARING WIFE IN THIS UNIVERSE....

I can't understand the reason of the smile on her face with some tears in her eyes, still I m happy....:)

"THANK YOU GOD FOR THIS SECOND? CHANCE."

But there is only one chance in the name called life.  Do appreciate others and reciprocate what they are and do for you.  Never have ego with the loved ones because they are the ones who make your life wonderful.  Always carry smile and think before you act.

Live Positive Way

Once a biology class was going on.. The teacher was teaching the class on how a butterfly comes out of its cocoon… He brought a live cocoon to demonstrate a butterfly coming out… Unfortunately he was called out on an urgent task before the butterfly could come out…

But before he went he warned the class that on no condition should anyone help the butterfly to come out… He went out and after some time the cocoon opened and the butterfly started to come out… One boy taking pity on the butterfly's struggle helped it to come out… The sir returned and saw the butterfly and then asked the class… Who helped the butterfly.. The boy raised his hand and confessed… The sir said u did grave error in helping the butterfly… In helping it u deprived the butterfly of it life's goal…The initial struggle out of the cocoon should help the butterfly strengthen its wings… now it will never fly…We are also in some ways like this butterfly .....

Sometimes Struggles are exactly what we need in our life.  If we were to go through life without any obstacles, It would cripple us.  We would not be as strong as we could have been and we could never fly.  So next time you are faced with an obstacle, a challenge, or a problem, struggle a little- then fly.

Have a wonderful day ahead !!!!

Live Positive Way - Hare & Tortoise Modified version...

Once upon a time a tortoise and a hare had an argument about who was faster. They decided to settle the argument with a race. They agreed on a route and started off the race.. The hare shot ahead and ran briskly for some time. Then seeing that he was far ahead of the tortoise, he thought he'd sit under a tree for some time and relax before continuing the race. He sat under the tree and soon fell asleep. The tortoise plodding on overtook him and soon finished the race, emerging as the undisputed champ. The hare woke up and realized that he'd lost the race. The moral- "Slow and steady wins the race.  This is the version of the story that we've all grown up with."

THE STORY DOESN'T END HERE.....

There are few more interesting things..... it continues as follows..... The hare was disappointed at losing the race and he did some soul-searching. He realized that he'd lost the race only because he had been overconfident, careless and lax. If he had not taken things for granted, there's no way the tortoise could have beaten him. So he challenged the tortoise to another race. The tortoise agreed. This time, the hare went all out and ran without stopping from start to finish. He won by several miles. The moral - " Fast and consistent will always beat the slow and steady.  It's good to be slow and steady; but it's better to be fast and reliable."

THE STORY DOESN'T END HERE TOO........

The tortoise did some thinking this time, and realized that there's no way it can beat the  hare in a race the way it was currently formatted. It thought for a  while, and then challenged the hare to another race, but on a slightly  different route. The hare agreed. They started off. In keeping with his self-made commitment to be consistently fast, the hare took off and ran at top speed until he came to a broad river. The finishing  line was a couple of kilometers on the other side of the river. The
hare sat there wondering what to do. In the meantime the tortoise  trundled along, got into the river, swam to the opposite bank,  continued walking and finished the race. The moral - "First identify your core competency and then change the playing field to suit your core competency."

THE STORY STILL HASN'T ENDED .......

The hare and the tortoise, by this time, had become pretty good friends and they did  some thinking together. Both realized that the last race could have  been run much better. So they decided to do the last race again, but  to run as a team this time. They started off, and this time the hare carried the tortoise till the riverbank. There, the tortoise took over and swam across with the hare on his back. On the opposite bank, the hare again carried the tortoise and they reached the finishing line together. They both felt a greater sense of satisfaction than they'd felt earlier. The moral - "It's good to be individually brilliant and to have strong core competencies; but unless you're able to work in a team and harness each other's core competencies, you'll always perform below par because there will always be situations at which you'll do poorly and someone else does well.. Teamwork is mainly about  situational leadership, letting the person with the relevant core competency for a situation take leadership. Note that neither the hare nor the tortoise gave up after failures. The hare decided to work harder and put in more effort after his failure. The tortoise changed his strategy because he was already working as hard as he could."

In life, when faced with failure, sometimes it is appropriate to work harder and put in more effort. And sometimes it is appropriate to do both. The hare and the tortoise also learnt another vital lesson. When we stop competing against a rival and instead start competing against the situation, we perform far better. To sum up- the story of the hare and tortoise has much to say: Chief among them are that fast and consistent will always beat slow and steady; work to your competencies; pooling resources and working as a team will always beat individual performers; never give up when faced with failure;finally, compete against the situation - not against a rival.

Live Positive Way - Have Patience

Once there was a sweeper in a well known temple and he was very sincere and devoted.
Every time he saw thousands of devotees coming to take darshan of the Lord, he thought that the Lord is standing all the time and giving darshan and He must be feeling very tired.  So one day very innocently he asked the Lord whether he can take the place of the Lord for a day so that the Lord can have some relief and rest. The Deity of Temple replied, "I do not mind taking a break. I will transform you like Myself, but you must do one thing, you must just stand here like Me, smile at everyone and just give benedictions.  Do not interfere with anything and do not say anything. Remember you are the deity and you just have faith that I have a master plan for everything." The sweeper agreed to this.

The next day the sweeper took the position of the deity and a rich man came and prayed to the Lord.  He offered a nice donation and prayed that his business should be prosperous. While going, the rich man inadvertently left his wallet full of money right there.  Now the sweeper in the form of deity could not call him and so he decided to control himself and keep quiet.

Just then a poor man came and he put one coin in the Hundi and said that it was all he could afford and he prayed to the Lord that he should continue to be engaged in the Lord's service.  He also said that his family was in dire need of some basic needs but he left it to the good hands of the Lord to give some solution.  When he opened his eyes, he saw the wallet left by the rich man.  The poor man thanked the Lord for His kindness and took the wallet very innocently.

The sweeper in the form of the Deity could not say anything and he had to just keep smiling.  At that point a sailor walked in. He prayed for his safe journey as he was going on a long trip.  Just then the rich man came with the police and said that somebody has stolen his wallet and seeing the sailor there, he asked the police to arrest him thinking that he might have taken it.  Now the sweeper in the form of Deity wanted to say that the sailor is not the thief but he could not say so and he became greatly frustrated.

The sailor looked at the Lord and asked why he, an innocent person, is being punished.  The rich man looked at the Lord and thanked Him for finding the thief. The sweeper in the deity form could no more tolerate and he thought that even if the real Lord had been here, he would have definitely interfered and hence he started speaking and said that the sailor is not the thief but it was the poor man who took away the wallet. The rich man was very thankful as also the sailor.

In the night, the real Lord came and He asked the sweeper how the day was. The sweeper said, "I thought it would be easy, but now I know that Your days are not easy, but I did one good thing."  Then he explained the whole episode to the Lord.  The Lord became very upset on hearing this whereas the sweeper thought the Lord would appreciate him for the good deed done.

The Lord asked, "Why did you not just stick to the plan? You had no faith in Me. Do you think that I do not understand the hearts of all those who come here? All the donation which the rich man gave was all stolen money and it is only a fraction of what he really has and he wants Me to reciprocate unlimitedly. The single coin offered by the poor man was the last coin he was having and
he gave it to Me out of faith. The sailor might not have done anything wrong, but if the sailor were to go in the ship that night he was about to die because of bad weather and instead if he is arrested he would be in the jail and he would have been saved form a greater calamity.  The wallet should go to the poor man because he will use it in My service.  I was going to reduce the rich man's karma also by doing this and save the sailor also. But you cancelled everything because you thought you know My plan and you made your own plans."

Moral: God has plans and justice for everyone....We just have to have patience!!!!!

Live Positive Way

Speech by Chetan Bhagat at Symbiosis ...

Don't just have career or academic goals. Set goals to give you a balanced, successful life. I use the word balanced before successful. Balanced means ensuring your health, relationships, mental peace are all in good order.

There is no point of getting a promotion on the day of your breakup. There is no fun in driving a car if your back hurts. Shopping is not enjoyable if your mind is full of tensions.

"Life is one of those races in nursery school where you have to run with a marble in a spoon kept in your mouth. If the marble falls, there is no point coming first. Same is with life where health and relationships are the marble. Your striving is only worth it if there is harmony in your life. Else, you may achieve the success, but this spark, this feeling of being excited and alive, will start to die.

One thing about nurturing the spark - don't take life seriously. Life is not meant to be taken seriously, as we are really temporary here. We are like a pre-paid card with limited validity. If we are lucky, we may last another 50 years. And 50 years is just 2,500 weekends. Do we really need to get so worked up?

It's ok, bunk a few classes, scoring low in couple of papers, goof up a few interviews, take leave from work, fall in love, little fights with your spouse. We are people, not programmed devices.

"Don't be serious, be sincere."!

A certain man planted a rose and watered it faithfully, and before it blossomed, he examined it.  He saw the bud that would soon blossom and also the thorns.  And he thought, how can any beautiful flower come from a plant burdened with so many sharp thorns saddened by this thought, he neglected to water the rose and before it was ready to bloom, it died.

So it is with many people. Within every soul there is a rose.  The God-like qualities planted in us at birth grow amid the thorns of our faults.  Many of us look at ourselves and see only the thorns, the defects.  We despair, thinking that nothing good can possibly come from us.  We neglect to water the good within us, and eventually it dies.  We never realize our potential.

Some people do not see    the    rose within themselves; someone  else must show it to  them. One     of     the greatest  gifts  a person can possess is  to be  able to reach past the thorns and find the   rose  within others.  This is the characteristic of  love, to look at  a  person, and knowing is faults, recognize the   nobility  in his soul, and help him  realize  that he can  overcome his  faults. If we show him the rose, he will conquer the thorns.

Our  duty  in this world  is  to help others  by showing them  their  roses and    not   their thorns.  Only then can   we   achieve the love we should feel    for   each other;  only  then  can  we   bloom in our own garden.

Live Positive Way - Making a Difference

A man was walking down the beach at sunset. As, he walked along, he saw another man in the distance. He noticed this man kept leaning down, picking up something and throwing it out into the water, again and again. As, he approached even closer, he noticed that the man was picking up starfish that had been washed up on the beach. He was throwing them back into the water, one by one.

Puzzled, he approached the man and said, "Good Evening. I was wondering what you are doing."

"I'm throwing these starfish back into the ocean. You see, it's low tide and all these starfish have been washed up onto the shore. If, I don't throw them back into the ocean, they'll die up here from lack of oxygen."

"But, there must be thousands of starfish on this beach. You can't possible get to all of them. And, don't you realize this is probably happening on hundreds of beaches all up and down this coast. Can't you see that you can't possibly make a difference?"

The man bent down and picked up yet another starfish, and threw it back into the ocean. With a smile he replied, "Made a difference to that one !!!"

Just remember, no matter how small the deed it really does makes a difference.
Make a difference today.

Live Positive Way - Never Manipulate

Death came to a Man and said, “My friend today is your last day on the earth"

Man : But I am not ready..

Death : Well your name is the next in my list..

Man : Okay why don't you take a seat and I will get you something to eat before we go..

Death thought for a moment and said : All Right..

The Man gave Death some food with sleeping pills in it. Death finished eating and fell into a deep sleep..

The Man took the list & removed his name from top of the list and wrote it into the bottom of the list.

When Death woke up, he said to the Man : Because you have been so very nice to me, I will start from the BOTTOM of the list..

Moral of the story : Never Manipulate.

Live Positive Way - Success & Failure

Success is good because it  confirms things for us.

Success confirms our plans.
Success  confirms our decisions.
Success confirms our resources.
Success confirms  our strategies.
Success confirms our hunches.
Success confirms our  teamwork.
Success confirms our risks.
Success confirms a lot of  things!

And Failure's  role is to teach us.

Failure teaches us  that we need to change our plans.
Failure teaches us that we need to change  our decisions.
Failure teaches us that we need to change our  resources.
Failure teaches us that we need to change our  strategies.
Failure teaches us that we need to change our hunches.
Failure  teaches us that we need to change our teamwork.
Failure teaches us that we  need to change our risks.
Failure teaches us that we need to change a lot of  things!

Live Positive Way - Perception!

Forwarded mail...

Different people have different perception. One man's meat could be another man's poison. A couple bought a donkey from the market. On the way home, a boy commented, 'Very stupid. Why neither of them ride on the donkey? 'Upon hearing that, the husband let the wife ride on the donkey. He walked besides them. Later, an old man saw it and commented, 'The husband is the head of family. How can the wife ride on the donkey while the husband is on foot?' Hearing this, the wife quickly got down and let the husband ride on the donkey.

Further on the way home, they met an old Lady. She commented, 'How can the man ride on the donkey but let the wife walk. He is no gentleman.'

The husband thus quickly asked the wife to join him on the donkey. Then, they met a young man. He commented, 'Poor donkey, how can you hold up the weight of two persons. They are cruel to you.' Hearing that, the husband and wife immediately climbed down from the donkey and carried it on their shoulders.

It seems to be the only choice left. Later, on a narrow bridge, the donkey was frightened and struggled. They lost their balance and fell into the river. You can never have everyone praise you, nor will everyone condemn you. Never in the past, not at present, and never will be in the future.

Thus, do not be too bothered by others words if our conscience is clear...

Live Positive Way - All happens for good!

I remember posting this story long back.  But since its very interesting wish to share it again and again...

A king went hunting in the forest along with his minister, but after a hard day’s work he could not find any kill despite his best efforts, which made him very frustrated and in his anger, while wielding his sword, he accidentally cut his finger. As the minister helped him bandage the finger, he told the king, “Don't worry, whatever happens happens for the good.”  Already aggravated with the circumstances, the king said, “What nonsense are you talking. Can’t you see my finger is almost chopped off and I'm bleeding profusely, and you have the audacity to say that there is something good in it?” Out of sheer annoyance, he ordered his soldiers to throw the minister into a well. As he continued with his tour, he stopped to test the minister, and looked inside the well and very sarcastically remarked, “Whatever happens happens for good, stay there.”

Leaving the minister in the well the king wandered deep into the forest and soon realized he and his men were lost. To make matters worse, before the entourage could find a way out, the king was captured by some tribals in the forest. They were in a midst of a religious ritual which required a human sacrifice. As they did not recognize the king, they thought they had found their sacrifice to please the deity. It was all set and the King was about to be sacrificed, but even as they chanted their prayers, one of their priests noticed the missing finger on the king’s hand, and according to their tradition they could not sacrifice any person who is not complete. So, they decided to let him go and look for another person.

Shaken from the turn of events, the king thanked his luck and all of a sudden stopped to ponder about what his minister had said. He realized how right were his words - that whatever happens happens for a reason and it is good for you.  At that moment, he knew that had his finger not got cut off, his head surely would have been!! It indeed was a spate of good fortune.

He rushed back to his minister and immediately asked his ministers to take him out of the well. Though he praised his wisdom, he was still wondering at the minister’s words, and asked him, “It was good that my finger was cut as it saved my life, but what was good when I threw you into the well?’ In reply, the minister said that there was good in that too, because had he been accompanying the king, the tribal people would have killed him instead of the King, as he was physically perfect for their sacrifice.

This story gives ab insignt about how people forget to see any good in a moment of distress, but later on when that moment passes out  and when they get something better they realize the power of this philosophy.  It has happened in my personal experience too.  Whenever some critical situation arrises always remember "this too will pass...." and stay positive!

Live Positive Way - handling complaints

Complaining is a way of life for some people.  When this person also happens to be a close friend or family member, it can be frustrating and make us negative.  People who complain are generally people who have not developed a loving inner self nature and not compassionate with themselves.  Such people do that to gain attention from others and make themselves and surrounding people negative and unhappy.  To have a positive life we must know how to handle such people since there are a lot of annoying people who likes to complain about others for no reason.

Why people complain?
They have a big ego and think they know it all.
They don't give importance or attention to the details others give.
They themselves imagine things which is not real most of the time and whine and complain.
They normally be judgemental.

How to deal with people who keeps complaining?
1. Give them a lot of empathy.
2. Never let the person's complaints get into you. When you are sure you didn't do anything about what they say then its not your problem.
3. Don't react indifferent or sarcastic.  Do not add fuel to the discussion going on.
4. If they start an argument just give your ears to what all they say and stay calm and cool and keep your points softly in front of them.
5. Always remember that the one who is complaining has a problem and YOU are not the problem.
6. En-route them to http://www.justgriping.com/. On-line webpage for them to complain through out the day.

A story....!

A woman baked chapatti (roti) for members of her family and an extra one for a hungry passerby. She kept the extra chapatti on the window sill, for whosoever would take it away. Every day, a hunchback came and took away the chapatti. Instead of expressing gratitude, he muttered the following words as he went his way: “The evil you do remains with you: The good you do, comes back to you!” This went on, day after day. Every day, the hunchback came, picked up the chapatti and uttered the words:

“The evil you do, remains with you: The good you do, comes back to you!” The woman felt irritated. “Not a word of gratitude,” she said to herself… “Everyday this hunchback utters this jingle! What does he mean?” One day, exasperated, she decided to do away with him. “I shall get rid of this hunchback,” she said. And what did she do? She added poison to the chapatti she prepared for him!

As she was about to keep it on the window sill, her hands trembled. “What is this I am doing?” she said. Immediately, she threw the chapatti into the fire, prepared another one and kept it on the window sill. As usual, the hunchback came, picked up the chapatti and muttered the words: “The evil you do, remains with you: The good you do, comes back to you!”

The hunchback proceeded on his way, blissfully unaware of the war raging in the mind of the woman. Every day, as the woman placed the chapatti on the window sill, she offered a prayer for her son who had gone to a distant place to seek his fortune. For many months, she had no news of him.. She prayed for his safe return.

That evening, there was a knock on the door. As she opened it, she was surprised to find her son standing in the doorway. He had grown thin and lean. His garments were tattered and torn. He was hungry, starved and weak. As he saw his mother, he said, “Mom, it’s a miracle I’m here. While I was but a mile away, I was so famished that I collapsed. I would have died, but just then an old hunchback passed by. I begged of him for a morsel of food, and he was kind enough to give me a whole chapatti. As he gave it to me, he said, “This is what I eat everyday: today, I shall give it to you, for your need is greater than mine!”

” As the mother heard those words, her face turned pale. She leaned against the door for support. She remembered the poisoned chapatti that she had made that morning. Had she not burnt it in the fire, it would have been eaten by her own son, and he would have lost his life!

It was then that she realized the significance of the words: “The evil you do remains with you: The good you do, comes back to you!” Do good and Don’t ever stop doing good, even if it is not appreciated at that time. If you like this, share it with others and I bet so many lives would be touched.
