“Love doesn’t make the world go round. Love is what makes the ride worthwhile.” – Franklin P. Jones
“Love is always patient and kind; it is never jealous, love is never boastful or conceited; it is never rude or selfish; it does not take offense, and is not resentful. Love takes no pleasure in other people’s sins but delights in the truth; it is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope, and to endure whatever comes. Love does not come to an end.” – Bible
“One word frees us of all the weight and pain in life. That word is love.” – Sophocles
“Oh, ’tis love, ’tis love that makes the world go round” – Lewis Carroll
“You will find as you look back upon your life that the moments when you have really lived are the moments when you have done things in the spirit of love.” – Henry Drummond

Live Positive Way

This is something so beautiful just read the depth of it..,...I hired a plumber to help me restore an old farmhouse, and after he had just finished a rough first day on the job: a flat tire made him lose an hour of work, his electric drill quit and his ancient one ton truck refused to start.

While I drove him home, he sat in stony silence. On arriving, he invited me in to meet his family. As we walked toward the front door, he paused briefly at a small tree, touching the tips of the branches with both hands.

When opening the door he underwent an amazing transformation.. His face was wreathed in smiles and he hugged his two small children and gave his wife a kiss.

Afterward he walked me to the car. We passed the tree and my curiosity got the better of me. I asked him about what I had seen him do earlier.

'Oh, that's my trouble tree,' he replied 'I know I can't help having troubles on the job, but one thing's for sure, those troubles don't belong in the house with my wife and the children.. So I just hang them up on the tree every night when I come home and ask God to take care of them. Then in the morning I pick them up again.' 'Funny thing is,' he smiled,' when I come out in the morning to pick 'em up, there aren't nearly as many as I remember hanging up the night before.

THIS ONE IS WORTH SENDING ON.

Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance.
We all need a Tree!
Why we shout when in anger -
'A Hindu saint who was visiting river Ganges to take bath found a group of family members on the banks, shouting in anger at each other. He turned to his disciples smiled’n asked.
‘Why do people shout in anger shout at each other?’
Disciples thought for a while, one of them said,’Because we lose our calm, we shout.’
‘But, why should you shout when the other person is just next to you? You can as well tell him what you have to say in a soft manner.’asked the saint
Disciples gave some other answers but none satisfied the other disciples.
Finally the saint explained, .
‘When two people are angry at each other, their hearts distance a lot. To cover that distance they must shout to be able to hear each other. The angrier they are, the stronger they will have to shout to hear each other to cover that great distance.
What happens when two people fall in love? They don’t shout at each other but talk softly, Because their hearts are very close. The distance between them is either nonexistent or very small…’
The saint continued,’When they love each other even more, what happens? They do not speak, only whisper’n they get even closer to each other in their love. Finally they even need not whisper, they only look at each other’n that’s all. That is how close two people are when they love each other.’
He looked at his disciples and said.
‘So when you argue do not let your hearts get distant, Do not say words that distance each other more, Or else there will come a day when the distance is so great that you will not find the path to return.’

Once there was a farmer who discovered that he had lost his watch in the barn. It
was not an ordinary watch because it had
sentimental value for him.
After searching high and low among the hay for a long while;
he gave up and
enlisted the help of a group of children playing outside the barn.
He promised them that, the person who found it, would be rewarded.
Hearing this, the children hurried inside the barn, went through and around the entire stack of hay but still could not find the watch. Just when the farmer was
about to give up looking for his watch, a little boy went up to him and asked to be given another chance. The farmer looked
at him and thought, “Why not.? After all,
this kid looks sincere enough.”
So the farmer sent the little boy back in the barn. After a while the little boy came out with the watch in his hand..!
The farmer was both happy and surprised and so he asked the boy how he succeeded
where the rest had failed...!
The boy replied, “I did nothing but sit on the ground and listen. In the silence, I heard the ticking of the watch and just looked for it in that direction.”
Moral : A Peaceful mind can think better than a Worked up mind. Allow a few minutes of Silence to ur mind every day, nd see, how sharply it helps u to set ur life the way u expect it to be..!
The soul always knows what to do to heal itself..
The challenge is to silence the mind

Chetan Bhagat’ s Article in TOI this month : Specially for Indian Women. Do Read it and share it with all the women you know..

Alright, this is not cool at all. A recent survey by Nielsen has revealed that Indian women are the most stressed out in the world: 87% of our women feel stressed out most of the time. This statistic alone has caused me to stress out. Even in workaholic America, only 53% women feel stressed.

What are we doing to our women? I'm biased, but Indian women are the most beautiful in the world. As mothers, sisters, daughters, colleagues, wives and girlfriends - we love them. Can you imagine life without the ladies?

For now, i want to give Indian women five suggestions to reduce their stress levels.

One, don't ever think you are without power. Give it back to that mother-in-law. Be who you are, not someone she wished you would be. She doesn't like you? That's her problem.

Two, if you are doing a good job at work and your boss doesn't value you -tell him that, or quit. Talented, hard-working people are much in demand.

Three, educate yourself, learn skills, network - figure out ways to be economically independent. So next time your husband tells you that you are not a good enough wife, mother or daughter-in-law, you can tell him to take a hike.

Four, do not ever feel stressed about having a dual responsibility of family and work. It is difficult, but not impossible. The trick is not to expect an A+ in every aspect of your life. You are not taking an exam, and you frankly can't score cent per cent (unless you are in SRCC, of course). It is okay if you don't make four dishes for lunch, one can fill their stomach with one. It is okay if you don't work until midnight and don't get a promotion. Nobody remembers their job designation on their dying day.

Five, most important, don't get competitive with other women. Someone will make a better scrapbook for her school project than you. Another will lose more weight with a better diet. Your neighbor may make a six-dabba tiffin for her husband, you don't - big deal. Do your best, but don't keep looking out for the report card, and definitely don't expect to top the class. There is no ideal woman in this world, and if you strive to become one, there will be only one thing you will achieve for certain - stress.

So breathe, chill, relax. Tell yourself you are beautiful, do your best and deserve a peaceful life. Anybody trying to take that away from you is making a mistake, not you. Your purpose of coming to this earth is not to please everyone. Your purpose is to offer what you have to the world, and have a good life in return. The next time this survey comes, i don't want to see Indian women on top of the list. I want them to be the happiest women in the world.

Cherish Womanhood!!

THE SCORPION
"An old man saw a scorpion drowning and decided
to pull it out from the water. He calmly extended
his hand to reach the creature. When he did, the
scorpion stung him. With the effect of the pain, the
old man let go the creature and it fell back into the
water. The man realizing that the scorpion was
drowning again, got back and tried to rescue it but
then again it stung him. He let go of it again.
A young boy standing by, approached the old man
and said, "Excuse me Sir, you are going to hurt
yourself trying to save the evil-vicious creature,
why do you insist? Don't you realize that each time
you try to help the scorpion, it stings you?"
The man replied, "The nature of the scorpion is to
sting and mine is to help. My nature will not
change in helping the scorpion."
So the man thought for a while and used a leaf
from a nearby tree and pulled the scorpion out
from the water and saved it's life.
MORAL LESSON:
Do not change your nature. If someone hurts you,
just take precautions. Some pursue happiness while
others create it. Let your conscience be your guide
in whatever you do."

Drop all ambition to be the first to become enlightened. There is no individual enlightenment. All individuals are joined together with the whole.
Buddha reached the gate of heaven. Of course, the people there were waiting. They opened the door, they welcomed him, but he turned his back towards the door looked at the world - millions of souls on the same path, struggling, in misery, in anguish, striving to reach this gate of heaven and bliss.
The doorkeeper said, "Come in, please. We have been waiting for you."
And Buddha said, "How can I come when others have not reached? It doesn't seem to be the right time. How can I enter when the whole has not yet entered? I will have to wait. It is just as if my hand has reached into the door and my feet have not reached yet. I will have to wait. Just the hand cannot enter alone."
It is said in this beautiful story that Buddha is still waiting. He has to wait - nobody is an island, we make a continent, we are together.

A man asked the sculptor, "How do you make such beautiful idols from stone ?"
He replied: " The Idols and images are already hidden there, I only remove the unwanted stone."

A father left 17 Camels as an Asset for his Three Sons.
When the Father passed away, his sons opened up the will.
The Will of the Father stated that the Eldest son should get Half of 17 Camels,
The Middle Son should be given 1/3rd of 17 Camels,
Youngest Son should be given 1/9th of the 17 Camels,
As it is not possible to divide 17 into half or 17 by 3 or 17 by 9, the sons started to fight with each other.
So, they decided to go to a wise man.
The wise man listened patiently about the Will. The wise man, after giving this thought, brought one camel of his own & added the same to 17. That increased the total to 18 camels.

Now, he started reading the deceased father’s will.
Half of 18 = 9.
So he gave 9 camels
to the eldest son.
1/3rd of 18 = 6.
So he gave 6 camels
to the middle son.
1/9th of 18 = 2.
So he gave 2 camels
to the youngest son.
Now add this up:
9 + 6 + 2 = 17 &
This leaves 1 camel,
which the wise man took back.

MORAL: The attitude of negotiation & problem solving is to find the 18th camel i.e. the common ground. Once a person is able to find the common ground, the issue is resolved. It is difficult at times.
However, to reach a solution, the first step is to believe that there is a solution. If we think that there is no solution, we won’t be able to reach any!
If you liked this story, please share with all. You might spark a thought, inspire & possibly change a life forever!

Claude Monet is one of art’s most important and influential figures and the leader of the Impressionist movement. Born in Paris in 1840, Monet was a rebel from an early age, preferring to spend his time outside, sketching nature, rather than being confined to a classroom. He later enrolled at the famed art school, Academie Suisse, where he began to explore his craft of painting landscapes. In Paris, Monet befriended several like-minded artists, including Pisarro and Renoir, who became a part of the Impressionist movement, which was a type of painting that stressed light, movement and emotion over realism.
Monet’s style used complex short brush strokes and dots of contrasting color that, when viewed up close, looked chaotic. When viewed far away, however, the large scale painting looked like a beautiful soft-focus image. His most famous works include “Water Lilies” and “Sunflowers.” Many critics wondered how Monet’s eyesight – severely compromised by severe cataracts – had impacted his work and style. Monet died in 1926. His paintings, most worth millions each, hang in prestigious museums throughout the world, including Paris’ Louvre and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

Inspiring Personality

Olympic runner Marla Runyan never let her disability slow her down. Born in 1969 in Santa Maria, California, Runyan has Stargardt’s disease, a degenerative eye condition that caused her to become legally blind. A three-time national champion in the women’s 5000 meter, Runyan competed in the 1500-meter finals at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, Australia.
An avid marathon runner with a master’s degree in special education, Runyan is a professional motivational speaker, encouraging people to look past barriers and reach their full potential. She said she was inspired to succeed as a young child, after a doctor told her that her blindness would prevent her from achieving success in life.
Runyan also reaches out to children and families dealing with vision loss. “The future is not written and you have control about how you respond to the vision loss,” she has said. “Your child will show you what he or she wants to do.”
