THE WISE WOMAN'S STONE
A wise woman, who was traveling in the mountains, found a precious stone in a stream. The next day she met another traveller who was hungry, and the wise woman opened her bag to share her food. The hungry traveller saw the precious stone and asked the woman to give it to him. She did so without hesitation. The traveller left, rejoicing in his good fortune. He knew the stone was worth enough to give him security for a lifetime.

But, a few days later, he came back to return the stone to the wise woman. "I've been thinking," he said. "I know how valuable this stone is, but I give it back in the hope that you can give me something even more precious. Give me what you have within you that enabled you to give me this stone.

Live Positive Way

Humanity travels not from error to truth, but from truth to truth.

Without the struggle towards the infinite there can be no ideal.

The life of the practical is in the ideal.

There is only one country in the world which understands religion- it is India.

The Indian mind is first religious, then anything else.

Here in India, it is religion that forms the very core of the national heart.

Our vigour, our strength, nay, our national life is in our religion.

Renunciation and spirituality are the two great ideas of India.

India’s gift to the world is the light spiritual.

India must rise, the masses and the poor are to be made happy.

Live Positive Way

“We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature – trees, flowers, grass- grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence… We need silence to be able to touch souls.”
“Peace begins with a smile.”
“Even the rich are hungry for love, for being cared for, for being wanted, for having someone to call their own.”
“If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one.”
“Let us touch the dying, the poor, the lonely and the unwanted according to the graces we have received and let us not be ashamed or slow to do the humble work.”
“Let us not be satisfied with just giving money. Money is not enough, money can be got, but they need your hearts to love them. So, spread your love everywhere you go.”
“Intense love does not measure, it just gives.”
“I want you to be concerned about your next door neighbor. Do you know your next door neighbor?”
“We shall never know all the good that a simple smile can do.”
“I try to give to the poor people for love what the rich could get for money. No, I wouldn’t touch a leper for a thousand pounds; yet I willingly cure him for the love of God.”
“There must be a reason why some people can afford to live well. They must have worked for it. I only feel angry when I see waste. When I see people throwing away things that we could use.”
“The greatest destroyer of peace is abortion because if a mother can kill her own child, what is left for me to kill you and you to kill me? There is nothing between.”

Live Positive Way

Pleasure is not the goal of man, but knowledge.

All knowledge and all poor are within and not without.

All over the world, it is the wise man who enjoys the happiness of the world.

Expansion is the sign of life, and we must spread over the world with our spiritual ideals.

The highest use of life is to hold it as the service of all beings.

He alone lives whose life in the whole universe.

We are lamps, and our burning is what we call “Life”.

Life on the plane of the spirit is the only life, life on any other plane is mere death.

Wherever there is life, the storehouse of infinite energy is behind it.

The secret of life is not enjoyment, but education through experience.

Live Positive Way

Life in this world is an attempt to see god.

Take the hands away and those in light, the light exists always for us, the lifht self-effulgent nature of the human soul.

Seek the lord and getting him we get all.

Machines never made mankind happy and never will make.

The greatest thing is meditation.

Man is divine

Man is the epitome of all things and all knowledge in him.

Man has infinite power within himself, and he can realise it – he can realise himself as the one infinite self.

Each man is perfect by his nature; prophets have manifested this perfection, but it is potential in us.

Man alone becomes God.

“The most terrible poverty is loneliness and the feeling of being unloved.”
“We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop.”
“It is a kingly act to assist the fallen.”
“Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless.”
“I have found the paradox, that if you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love.”
“Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies.”
“Being unwanted, unloved, uncared for, forgotten by everybody, I think that is a much greater hunger, a much greater poverty than the person who has nothing to eat.”
“If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.”
“Love begins at home, and it is not how much we do… but how much love we put in that action.”
“Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier.”

Live Positive Way

The happiest is the man who is not at all selfish.

Man cannot be satisfied by wealth.

No man should be judged by his defects.

The brotherhood of man is the much-to-be-desired end.

As soon as a man or a nation loses faith, death comes.

Man is not travelling from error to truth, but from truth to truth, from lower to higher truth.

The world is neither good nor evil, each man manufactures a world for himself.

Every religion and every creed recognises man as divine.

There is no limit to man’s power, the power of words and the power of mind.

Men are more valuable than all the wealth of the world.

The owner of a farm asked his child to work everyday at the farm.

His friend said to him: “You do not have to make your son work so hard. The crops would grow just as good."

Owner of the farm replied: “I am not cultivating my crops, but my child."
Moral of the story:

 1. A simple way to groom a child is to let him experience some hardships.
2. If not cut, jade would not turn into useful ware.

I read this somewhere...........interesting short story
